  1. That really blows, you have my sympathy.

My favorite job search method is www.Indeed.com

They search about a billion other websites and job posting companies, and they do pretty good keyword emails.

I was going to mention that I saw you were specially thanked in CADalyst this month for your work on the archives. That is so cool!

    Best of luck!

  2. If we had an engineering division in FL I'd certainly forward your resume to our HR dept. Any company should feel privileged to have a CAD guy of your caliber on their staff.

    Good luck!

  4. Thanks everyone for the kudos, I appreciate it. I will be fine. My family will be fine. It has been an exciting week for me. Sunday Night (it's a week ago tomorrow) Tropical Storm Fay was heading our way. My wife and I went to start putting up the storm shutters. My wife missed the last step outside of the house, fell and broke her leg in three places!! Monday she had 2 plates and 13 screws/pins put into her leg. OUCH!! Thursday she came home from the hospital. YAY!! Oh yeah, Thursday I was laid off, ouch. Friday she was also diagnosed with Grave's Disease and Friday our health insurance was terminated. It was provided by my employer! My wife is fine, she will heal, right now she can't walk. She is in a wheel chair and hops along with a walker to get from the chair to the restroom, bed, etc. See, she broke her left leg and sprained her right foot!
So now, my wife is "crippled" has a hyperactive thyroid (Graves Disease), we are unemployed and uninsured. Besides that we have a home, our health (mostly!) and we have God. Not to mention our many wonderful friends and family.
All of this is happening for a reason, whatever it might be. The good news about being unemployed is that I now have the time to take care of my wife. If I was working it would be impossible to take care of her, and our two kids. Anyway, between tending to my beloved spouse, getting our offspring to school, dance and soccer, I will do my best to continue to write at CAD-a-Blog.

  5. Brian,

Oh, wow, my sympathies to your wife.

Over the broken leg, yes, but, also over the Graves. I've got a couple of Autoimmune disorders myself. These things are such a pain, because they affect your entire health, and are frequently misunderstood by many healthcare providers.

BUT, one good thing is that because of ease of information transfer, that treatment has certainly improved greatly for these types of disorders.

Yes, the rest is just details.

Thoughts and prayers to your family from mine.
