3Dconnexion Announces new SpaceMouse Wireless 3D Mouse

3Dconnexion announces a new wireless 3D mouse called SpaceMouse Wireless.  SpaceMouse Wireless is 3Dconnexion’s first and only wireless product.  It features a new design and its two buttons are improved in terms of size, shape and feel compared to the SpaceNavigator products.  It has a lower center of gravity and a larger rubber area on the underside base giving it more stability on the desktop.

This new 3D mouse uses proprietary 3Dconnexion 2.4 GHz wireless technology that optimizes performance and battery life.  It can be used up to 10 meters away from its USB receiver.  3Dconexxion claims that the SpaceMouse Wireless will operate for up to one month between charges and the battery can be fully re-charged using the supplied micro-USB cable within 2 hours.  SpaceMouse Wireless is still functional during charging.  The mouse can be shut off when not in use to help battery life.

  • At launch SpaceMouse Wireless will work on the following operating systems:
  • Microsoft Windows 8 and 8.1 x86 and x64
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (all editions)
  • Microsoft Vista x86 and x64 (all editions)
  • Windows XP Pro
  • Mac OS X 10.6 to v. 10.8
  • Linux
  • Unix

3Dconnexion says that the SpaceMouse Wireless is not meant to replace any existing product but expands its product range providing more choice for users.  The SpaceNavigator for Notebooks and the SpaceNavigator are priced at $99 (U.S.D.).  The SpaceMouse Wireless will be priced at $129 (U.S.D.)

The SpaceMouse Wireless will be available October 1st 2013.

I am working on getting a review unit to try it our and report back to you on it.
